“My crown isn’t on my head but in my soul.”
- Te’Arra Stewart
Born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas this is the place where my dreams began to take place. Growing up I never knew I had a passion for art. My Freshman year of college at, The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, awakened my talent. I'm now a senior at the university and graduating May 2021, with a Bachelors of Arts and Science. Post graduation I will obtain my Masters in Fine Arts, and teach as a professor until my small business turns into a Gallery and Outreach Center specifically for minority children and artist on the rise.
Mission In Progress
“One step closer to the goal,” is what I said to myself.
I’m officially an Alumna from The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors in Fine Arts.
Future in progress…
I am overly excited about being accepted into The Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) Low-Residency Masters Program. I began this program June of 2021, immediately after graduating from my undergraduate program.
First Summer…
During my first summer in Philadelphia I developed five vital pieces of work. At the time I was going through a lot of growing pains. I shedded a lot of dead weight in my personal life that fueled the work I created during my time there. I had such an amazing time in the city, I learned a lot about myself as I adapted to a new environment. To the left is one of those five pieces I created during my time there.
Second Summer…
Summer 2022 was such an eye opener for me and my artwork. I spent this summer alone and focused on evolving and working at a larger scale. I spent time walking around the city snapping pictures for inspiration while simultaneously on a quest of finding home in an unfamiliar place. I also created another set of five pieces during my time there. This work reflects what my subconscious adapted to in this new environment, finding interest in the qualities of the city that reminded me of home.

SOOOOOO I’m a Professor! Instructing is a lot like creating artwork. You question and second guess every lesson and demonstration until a student who fully comprehends the lesson can execute a piece of work, or incorporates the knowledge they’ve learned into their own personal practice. I find myself doing more self reflecting now than I’ve ever done. I love my career and my students. S/O to my colleagues they are amazingly talented, knowledgable, patience individuals, and make this instructing thing easier.
